Dear Vi friends,

I am pleased to forward the following academic opportunities from Vi members in Switzerland, Russia, and Colombia.

I hope you find them of interest.

Vi Swiss core university member, the World Trade Institute (WTI), invites Vi member to attend the lecture "A new approach to migration: Open the doors!" to be delivered by François Crépeau, Oppenheimer Professor of International Law at McGill University (Montreal) and UN Special Rapporteur on the Human Rights of Migrants.

The lecture will take place at WTI's Silva Casa Auditorium in Bern on June 12 at 12:15.

Participation is free of charge, but registration is required.

Vi affiliate member, St. Petersburg State University (SPSU), has issued a call for papers in preparation for the international forum, "Russia and Iberoamerica in the globalized world: Past and present," scheduled for October 1-3 at SPSU.

Conference organizers, which include Vi Colombian affiliate member, Universidad ICECI, welcome contributions covering economic and political development of Latin American countries and Russia, the history of relations between Latin America and Russia, and the dialogue of cultures and civilizations. The working languages of the conference are Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, and English.

More information about the conference is available in Russian and Spanish.

Vi core university member coordinator, Maria Alejandra Gonzalez Perez, and co-editors have issued a call for chapters for the Advanced Series in Management volume "Dead Firms: Causes and Effects of Cross-Border Corporate Insolvency." The volume seeks to explore international and cross-disciplinary perspectives of how and why companies die.
