Dubrovnik, Croatia (Hrvatska)

Dear Colleagues,

It is our pleasure to invite you to the 8th Dubrovnik International Economic Meeting (DIEM 2027), an international scientific conference under the theme "Era of Transformation on a Global Level: Different Perspectives", which will take place from 13 to 15 May 2027 in Dubrovnik, Croatia. The conference is organised by the University of Dubrovnik, Faculty of Economics and Business, and will be held in a hybrid format, allowing participants to attend either onsite or online.

DIEM is an established biennial conference in the fields of economics and business economics, bringing together researchers, professionals, and early-career scholars from around the world to discuss the practical and theoretical challenges of the modern economy.

We are pleased to announce two keynote speakers for DIEM 2027. Alessandro Zattoni, Professor in the Department of Business and Management at Luiss Guido Carli University in Rome, Italy, and President and Fellow of the European Academy of Management (EURAM), will speak on "Corporate Governance and Boards in the Era of Transformation". Simon Grima, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy at the University of Malta, will speak on "Navigating an Era of Global Transformation: Risk, Resilience and Opportunity in a Changing World".

As part of the conference programme, two workshops will be held for interested participants. The first, "Artificial Intelligence in Scientific Research", will be led by Sasa Mladenovic, Professor and Head of the Artificial Intelligence Research Group at the Faculty of Science, University of Split. The second is an interactive workshop titled "From Skills Gap to Skills Strategy: Rethinking Digital Competencies in Manufacturing", which will bring together representatives of academia, industry, and education to discuss the development of digital skills in the manufacturing sector.

We warmly invite economists, researchers, and professionals from related fields to contribute through abstracts, full papers, and panel presentations, with a particular commitment to providing young researchers with ample opportunity to present their work. Submissions are accepted via EasyChair, and full details on conference topics, deadlines, and formatting guidelines are available on the conference website.

We sincerely look forward to welcoming you to Dubrovnik in May 2027.
