The International Higher Education Teaching and Learning Association Conference (HETL 2025)

The 3-day HETL conference will bring together educators, researchers, and practitioners to exchange ideas, generate new knowledge, and drive innovation in teaching and learning in higher education. The previous editions of the conference were held at Nelson Mandela University in South Africa and the University of Aberdeen in the UK, attracting over 200 participants across three days.
The HETL 2025 conference theme is 'Reimagining Higher Education: Innovation and Leadership in an Interconnected World.' Across the following subthemes:
- Transformative Leadership in Global Higher Education
- Technology-Enhanced Learning: Opportunities and Challenges
- Sustainability and Ethics in Higher Education
- Future Skills and Employability in the Knowledge Economy
The conference will feature both in-person and online tracks and the deadline for abstract submission (for oral presentations, poster presentations, and a 60-minute workshop) is 31 August 2025. Submissions should be made via EasyChair: https://easychair.org/my/conference?conf=hetl2025

We are also pleased to share that Emerald Publishing will produce a special issue of full conference papers for the Journal of Applied Research in Higher Education, a Scopus Q1 journal. Papers will be selected based on editorial decisions and a peer-review process following the conference.
