New academic opportunities @ Virtual Institute network

Dear Vi friends,

I am pleased to forward the following academic opportunities from the Virtual Institute network.

The UNCTAD Virtual Institute is recruiting a project management intern for its Geneva-based team.

Eligible candidates must be Master's students or recent graduates who can commit to work five days per week (35 hours) for four to six months beginning in January. Priority will be given to applicants with skills in filming, video-editing and distance learning development, as well as English-language drafting.

As with all UN internships, the post is unpaid. Interns are responsible for all costs associated with travel, stay and insurance.

Interested candidates should complete the official UN application procedure.

Only short-listed applicants will be contacted.

For more information, contact susana.olivares@unctad.org.

The United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD) is seeking abstracts on policy reforms and innovations which will produce environmentally sustainable and socially just solutions. The work will be presented at the Resilience 2017 conference, to be held August 21-23 in Stockholm.

UNRISD will select up to five abstracts; other submissions may be considered for inclusion in an upcoming UNRISD Think Piece series on eco-social policies for resilient futures.

Accepted speakers will be responsible for covering their own travel and accommodation costs. Limited funding for developing country scholars may be made available by the conference organizers.

The deadline for submissions is January 13. For more information, contact info@unrisd.org.

I hope you find this information useful, and that you will distribute widely among your own networks.

Best regards,

Susana Olivares
