Globsyn Business School (GBS), Kolkata takes immense pleasure in announcing its second annual conference titled Globsyn Management Conference (GMC)to be held on 18th December, 2015. 

The Conference aims to create awareness on implementation of best practices in organizations. GMC 2015 endeavors to create a wider reach and network between the industry and the academia. The Conference will provide a unique platform to an eclectic blend of young and experienced researchers from the academics and industry to present their research articles and case studies on the relevant issues of Management pertaining to diverse domains.

The theme for this year is 'Changing Business Scenario and Evolving Management Practices'. Keeping this underlying theme in mind, GMC 2015 invites papers from academicians, researchers, industry practitioners to present their research findings on the evolving areas of Management in the light of the changing scenario. The contributions would be accepted for publication after being approved by the reviewers.

Upcoming deadline: Virtual Institute online course on trade and poverty analysis

Dear Vi friends,

The deadline for applying for the third edition of the Virtual Institute online course on trade and poverty analysis is fast approaching.

Scheduled for September 14 to November 29, the course will provide researchers from developing countries with the empirical tools needed to assess the impact of trade and trade-related policies on poverty and income distribution.

As a hands-on technical course, the pedagogical approach emphasizes data manipulation and the use of econometric tools. Applicants must, therefore, have knowledge of Stata and trade theory and policy, as well as a Master's degree in Economics and excellent knowledge of English. Participants with passing grades in all course activities will receive a certificate of completion.

Thanks to support from the Government of Finland, all selected participants will be exempt from course fees, and will receive the course DVD including the Vi teaching material on trade and poverty, free-of-charge.

Applications, including CV and letter of institutional support, must be submitted online no later than July 31. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
