The 2nd International Conference on Humanities and Social Sciences
The 2nd International Conference on Humanities and Social Sciences 10th to 12th February 2023 Las Vegas, United States of America The key objectives of the conference are to provide opportunities for academic researchers, students, and professionals in private and public institutions in related disciplines from a range of disciplines and countries to share their research both through the conference podium or on virtual presentations. The conference is both interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary. The conference will provide opportunities for academics to receive informal feedback through discussions and to enable them to establish contact with professionals in other countries and institutions. Among conference activities are tours that aim at "breaking the ice" away from the formalities of the conference hall, providing an informal setting for discussing different points of view and for personal interaction to ultimately build the connections that in turn create lasting international research partnerships. The final aim of the conference is to introduce academics to educational premises in locations that are suitable for study abroad programs and which may meet their students' educational needs. Face-to-face exchanges are the most effective means of engaging the international publics while broadening dialogue between academics and institutions. You may participate as panel organizer, presenter of one paper, chair a session, or observer to facilitate the exchange of ideas on your research and to discuss future developments in your disciplines. All the research participating in the conference will be evaluated. Papers presented at the 2nd conference will be reviewed and those that pass the peer-review process will be considered for publication in refereed scientific journals approved by the organizing committee. The 20th International Learning and Technology Conference
The 20th International Learning and Technology Conference 26th to 26th January 2023 Jeddah, Saudi Arabia The Metaverse is the immerging technology that creates the experience of an immersive, three-dimensional environment where users interact with their surroundings and shared space. It's a convergence of several technologies such as blockchain, augmented reality, virtual reality, 3D reconstruction, and artificial intelligence. The Metaverse market reached $46 billion in 2020, the market size is predicted to reach as much as $800 billion by 2024. Locally, Saudi Arabia plans to spend billions of dollars on blockchain and Metaverse technologies. Saudi Arabia's new Metaverse will help design a $500bn city in Real Life (IRL) where NEOM will be shaped by a "digital twin" virtual world. Many believe the Metaverse to be the next critical paradigm for how we utilize digital technology and networks to connect, cooperate, and enjoy virtual experiences. Teaching in a Metaverse platform means textbooks are replaced by integrated video gaming-style challenges that require students to apply learned skills to compete. There is an increasing need for new communication and connection modes, such as virtual 3D and the Internet of Everything (IoE), and remote communication and collaboration. The 20th International Learning and Technology Conference aims to be a meeting point for specialists to explore recent breakthroughs and discoveries to make the Metaverse experience more immersive. This conference will bring together decision-makers, academics, scientists, practitioners, professionals, and top keynote speakers to stimulate discussion on the latest developments in Metaverse and related technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Mixed Reality (MR), Internet of Everything (IoE), Robotics, Blockchain, Cloud Computing, Non-Fungible Token (NFT), etc. Accepted Papers will be published in IEEE Xplore Digital Library Submissions should be sent to the following link: http://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=lt2023 Please follow the IEEE format for structuring paper submissions https://www.ieee.org/conferences/publishing/templates.html Important Dates: Full Paper Submission (1st December, 2022) Author Notification (1st January, 2023) Camera-Ready Submission (15th January, 2023) End of Early Registration (15th January, 2023) Conference (26th January, 2023) Enquiries: zbalfagih@effatuniversity.edu.sa Web address: https://ltconf.effatuniversity.edu.sa Sponsored by: Effat university |

Fwd: HERITAGES: Past and Present - Built and Social
ABSTRACT DEADLINE PRAGUE - HERITAGES: Past and Present – Built and Social Abstracts: Nov 25, 2022 Event: June 28-30, 2023 https://amps-research.com/conference/heritages-prague/ - ORGANISERS: Czech Technical University, Prague with AMPS PUBLISHERS: Intellect Books, UCL Press THEMES: History, Conservation and the Future; Design, Planning, Art and Context; Community, Heritage and Identity; Museums and Places of Memory; Local Histories – Regional Cultures; Archives, Archaeology and Education DISCIPLINES: Art history, architectural history, architecture, urban planning, sociology, cultural studies, anthropology, museum and exhibition studies - CALL: 2023 marks the twentieth anniversary of the UNESCO Convention on Cultural Heritage. It established culture as a concept to be safeguarded. That event came three decades after the World Heritage Convention. Through that, UNESCO set up its World Heritage List of protected sites and buildings. The intervening years have seen multiple shifts in how we define heritage - as both material objects and social traditions. Today more than ever before, the distinction is blurred. The streets on which we live, the edifices we design, and the monuments we protect are all connected to the lifestyles, traditions, and social groupings we celebrate and safeguard. What we mean by heritage today then, is an open and diverse question. Our buildings and environments, our cities and neighborhoods, our memorials and our artworks, our cultures and communities are all component parts of what we understand as 'preservable' history. The dynamics at play are however complex. Conserving architectural heritage can conflict with development models. Community traditions are threatened by globalization. Monuments are often focal points for cultural contestation. Archeological sites are valued in themselves and simultaneously erased conflict and 'progress'. However, the past and the present also overlap and mutually support. Placemaking sees built and cultural heritage as key to urban practice. Contextualization is central to planning laws. Museums are sites for communities and displays. Heritage organsiations preserve buildings and educate the public. Galleries present historical art while debating meanings in contemporary terms. Reflecting on this scenario, this conference seeks papers on heritage from various standpoints: art and architecture historians concerned with preservation; architects and urban planners engaged with placemaking; cultural theorists and social historians documenting objects, places, people, and events. It welcomes case studies that are specific and place-based. It embraces theoretical frameworks that function globally. It is interested in variegated methods of research and analysis. Although the event is international in its reach, it is also interested in the specifics of the Czech Republic. It stems from the Prague-based project 'Then, Now and Always' and uses its themes of museums and communities as a key strand. Other strands and themes are listed on the link below and aim to bring in contributions from multiple fields. https://amps-research.com/conference/heritages-prague/ Enquiries: team@amps-research.com |

Eighth International Conference on Tourism and Leisure Studies - Tourism and Leisure Studies Research Network and the University of Granada, Granada, Spain
ABOUT US Founded in 2015, the Tourism and Leisure Studies Research Network is brought together to explore the economic, cultural, and organizational aspects of tourism and leisure. We seek to build an epistemic community where we can make linkages across disciplinary, geographic, and cultural boundaries. As a Research Network, we are defined by our scope and concerns and motivated to build strategies for action framed by our shared themes and tensions. https://tourismandleisurestudies.com/about -------- CALL FOR PAPERS https://tourismandleisurestudies.com/2023-conference/call-for-papers Place: Online and University of Granada, Granada, Spain Format: A mix of live, pre-recorded, and in person (at scale that's allowed) presentations and social interaction spaces. Dates: 14 - 16 June 2023 -------- SPECIAL FOCUS: Post-Pandemic Tourism Transformations The triangulation of Climate Crisis, Post-Pandemic Futures and Global Justice Advocacy through the BLM movement has made paradigm shifts in the tourism industry imperative. Social, cultural, economic and environmental contexts are increasingly providing for the rehabilitation of tourism in responsible and ethical ways. Non-urban tourism, distributed benefits to local communities, experiential immersions, innovative offerings and evidence-based statistical profiles are some of the research concerns. We meet in Granada to discuss these and other research and developmental concerns. -------- ANNUAL CONFERENCE THEMES Theme One - CHANGING DIMENSIONS OF CONTEMPORARY TOURISM Theme Two - CHANGING DIMENSIONS OF CONTEMPORARY LEISURE Theme Three - TOURISM AND LEISURE INDUSTRIES Theme Four - CRITICAL ISSUES IN TOURISM AND LEISURE STUDIES -------- A BLENDED FUTURE For over 30 years, Common Ground has been invested in developing technologies that seek to break down barriers of access in scholarly communication. In each phase, we've built media platforms to support spaces for interdisciplinary dialogue, before such approaches were in vogue; connected international voices, when disciplines were too often isolated in national silos; and supported an agenda of access and equality, by offering pathways and opportunities for diverse voices. We now propose another kind of intervention - to build a scholarly communication infrastructure for a blended future. Our blended model seeks to transcend physical boundaries by offering a platform to extend in-person conference content online, while ensuring online-only delegates are afforded equal participatory and experiential spaces within the platform. At the same time, the model offers participants a legacy resource to which they can return in the Event application, with access to a social space in our Community application where fellow participants can keep connected long after the conference ends. Our blended conference experience is delivered on the CGScholar platform - developed by the Common Ground Media Lab, the research and technology arm of Common Ground Research Networks. -------- RELATED CONFERENCES We understand travel is difficult in the current climate. For this reason, we also offer related thematic events in our sister Research Networks that you might be able to attend in-person. This way we build for our Research Network Members flexible, and at the same time resilient, spaces for communication, engagement, and participation.
