Doctoral/Post-Doctoral Fellowships, 2014

The Institute of Rural Research and Development (IRRAD) invites applications from doctoral/post-doctoral candidates for its research fellowship programme to work on rural development projects in the selected districts of India.

Interested candidates must submit a research proposal on any of the following research themes:

1. Influence of changing agronomy on economics of crops such as wheat and mustard in semi-arid regions of India

2. Comparative research study of the performance of water-management institutions in the semi-arid villages of India

3. Enhancing community participation through capacity building

4. Comparative research study of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) policies in Rajasthan and Haryana

5. Understanding changing gender roles through various interfaces of rural development

6. Relevance of integrating indigenous communication tools with technological innovations to effect wider dissemination of development discourses

7. Facilitators and impediments in capturing gender disaggregated data for water, sanitation and hygiene in India

The research proposal must explain the need of the study, objective, research questions, literature review, methodology and scope of the study – not exceeding 2500 words. The applicant may be a full time researcher or a Ph.D. student. Fellowship will include a total grant of Rs. 1,80,000/-.
