You are invited to participate at INTED2019.
This conference will provide the ideal opportunity to present your projects and experiences to an international audience. Also, it will offer participants an overview of the current situation of education, research and new learning innovations.

If you wish to learn more about how educational innovations are changing the world and how technology is influencing the learning/teaching methodologies, then do not miss the opportunity to come to INTED2019.

Two Weeks Training Course on Research Methodology in Social Sciences

Dates:  10-21 December 2018

Objectives

To develop the faculties of researchers to carry out social science research in a scientific way, to articulate their findings and conclusions in an effective manner in order to suggest field insights and policy recommendations.

Training

How to select and formulate the research problem, review the relevant literature using memory mapping, develop the theoretical and conceptual framework, select the research design, formulate the targeted research questions/testable hypotheses, and write research proposal
How to collect qualitative information through ethnography, case studies, focused group discussions
How to do content analysis and presentation through matrices, flow charts, and social mapping
How to decide on sampling method and sample size for survey, prepare the interview schedule/questionnaires,  design questionnaire and collect data using computer assisted personal interview (CAPI)
How to do data cleaning, sorting and analysis in software package STATA, interpret the results, and present findings in tabular forms and diagrams
How to conduct policy and impact evaluation studies, and do rankings on the basis of social indices
How to write thesis, report and other forms of publications, do referencing and indexing for the publication process
Course Design

Interactive classroom sessions on contemporary social science research topics, and various tools and techniques to conduct scientific research
Hands-on training of every method and their applications on participants' on-going or planned research topics
Day long field work to capture field insights through various taught methods  
Presentations by participants
   Course Contribution

Rs 6,000/- (six thousand) per participant, which include kit bag, course material, lunch, breakfast, mid-morning and afternoon tea/coffee. The participants will have to make their own arrangement for accommodation.

The Malcolm and Elizabeth Adiseshiah Award 2019

The Malcolm and Elizabeth Adiseshiah Trust invites nominations for the Malcolm Adiseshiah Award - 2019 and for the recently instituted Elizabeth Adiseshiah Award.

Conditions

The Malcolm Adiseshiah Award is given for Distinguished Contributions to Development Studies.

The Elizabeth Adiseshiah Award (Instituted in 2018) will be presented to a young scholar below the age of 45 as on 1st January of the year of Award for recognized contributions to Development Studies.

The MalColm Adiseshiah Award carries a citation and a cash prize of Rs.2 lakhs. The Awardee is expected to deliver the Malcolm Adiseshiah Memorial Lecture at the presentation ceremony.

Elizabeth Adiseshiah Award will carry a cash prize of Rs.1 lakh. 

The Awardees for both the awards will be chosen by a jury of eminent scholars.

Both awards are open to Indian and foreign scholars ordinarily resident in India.

Self Applications will not be entertained.
