Diversity of Interdisciplinary and Integrative Paradigms (Economics, Business, Science, and Society)

THEME:
Spanning the fields of economics, finance, business, science and society, and related fields, the theme of the conference invites scholarly papers projecting substantive ideas in the field of interdisciplinary unity of theory and practice in diversely interactive and integrative intellectual inquiry. The aim of the conference at the end is to initiate intellectual inquiry in the field of epistemological unity of the socio-scientific order for understanding critical realism through heterodox paradigms. Scholarly papers would also critically investigate the problems of orthodox intellectual experience and its reconstruction in the light of interdisciplinary and integrative reasoning, thought and practice.

Examples of topics, but not restricted to these alone, are:
1. Epistemological interdisciplinary paradigms overarching the field of economics, finance, business, science and society, and related fields
2. Development, sustainability, institutions and markets in a generalized theory of social systems
3. Theory and practice in social and public policy-making with interdisciplinary focus: inter-country and inter-institutional cases
4. System and cybernetic perspectives of studying complex interdisciplinary problems
5. Ethical issues in theories of justice, organization, market and economic relations, and business issues
6. The ethical dimensions of science and society, and the concept of wellbeing for sustainable human development
7. Institutions, markets, economy, policy and human resource development for poverty alleviation, social participation, and empowerment
8. Comparative economic, financial, business and banking systems for socioeconomic development and social change
9. Village development and urban sector linkages: international experiences and comparisons
10. Socio-scientific evaluation of international development and financial programs including technological change, innovation, development finance institutions, and international trade
11. Analytical models of general and specific interdisciplinary and integrative systems in science, society, institutions and the business world.
12. Other possible topics relevant to the theme, to be considered by the organisers.

Following the conference the refereed papers will be invited for submission in a number of special issues of the Emerald-published international academic journal, 'Humanomics: International Journal of Systems and Ethics' (Vol. 32 and 33, Nos. 1-8, 2014-15), covering the theme of the conference. Other conference papers may be considered in regular issues of this journal. HIJSE is a SCOPUS journal.

VENUE OF THE CONFERENCE:
The conference will be held in Langkawi Island, Malaysia equipped with all media facility, conference hall, parallel session facility, and good food. Langkawi Island is a picturesque venue lying between modernity and tradition of Malaysian socio-technical advancement. The island of Langkawi and its commercial centre Kuah have spiralled into a modern mega tourist and conference and exhibition hub in South-East Asia.

Langkawi is served by major airlines at her modern airport. Passengers can connect comfortably from all parts of the world. Hotels are superbly equipped with conference completeness ad high level of hospitality. The conference organizers will block some hotel rooms for guests. The island of Langkwai lies between the modern and the traditional wealth of beauty and serenity. So bring along your families and friends.

Acceptance notification will be sent by email by Oct. 30, 2013.
Please remember to send an abstract (no more than 200 words with keywords) along with your full paper, your brief resume (one page only) along with boldly marked email address for communicating the recommendation on your paper.

FIIS will host one lunch and one dinner.
