New academic opportunities from the UNCTAD Virtual Institute

Dear Vi friends,

I am pleased to forward the following offers from our member universities in Spain and Jordan. I hope you find them of interest.

Vi Spanish core member, the University of Barcelona, invites students and junior academics from Vi member institutions to apply for a scholarship to participate in the 2013-2014 edition of its Master of Laws in International Economic Law and Policy (IELPO). Funded by the Patronat Catalunya Món-DIPLOCAT and the City Council of Barcelona, the scholarship will cover tuition fees of EUR 18000, and provide an allowance of EUR 3000 to help fund travel and subsistence costs (subsistence cost estimated at EUR 800-900 monthly).

To qualify for the scholarship, candidates should specify "Vi scholarship" on the online application, which must be submitted by June 25. Endorsing Vi member institutions must also communicate the name of their candidates to vi@unctad.org.

The Jordan Journal of Economic Sciences, a publication of the Board of Directors of Scientific Research Support Fund/Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research and Vi core member, the University of Jordan, invites Vi academics to become part of its International Editorial Advisory Board.

The journal will be published bi-annually in Arabic and English and cover economic sciences at both macro and micro levels. Research manuscripts presented for publication will be anonymously and blindly refereed. Vi members arealso encouraged to submit theoretical and applied studies, scientific notes, critical reviews of books published during the last two years, and/or country-context case studies, that provide valuable insight on international economic issues.

Best regards,

Susana Olivares
