Organizes Research Methodology Workshop on

Climate Change and Agricultural Economics

Applications are invited from research scholars and teachers for a Research Methodology workshop on Climate Change and Agricultural Economics. The workshop will cover estimation issues in general with a focus on impact evaluation techniques including Randomized Control Trials, Matching, Difference-in-Difference, Instrumental Variables, etc. The objective of the workshop is to enable the participants to apply these techniques in their research involving impact of climate variables on agricultural outcomes, and evaluation of climate smart agricultural interventions. Potential candidates are early career researchers/ teachers /MPhil/PhD students who are engaged in or planning to engage with research involving agriculture and climate change. Interested candidates must send (i) a 1000 word concept note on the topic of their research (being carried out or planned), and (ii) a copy of their brief curriculum vitae to workshop_nchair@iegindia.org. Candidates are required to have some knowledge of econometrics/statistics. Academic competence and potential of the concept note will form the basis of selection. All selected outstation candidates will be provided with 3-tier AC return train fare and boarding and lodging at the institute during the course. The last date for submission of application with all the relevant details is November 15, 2016. Selected candidates will be informed by December 1, 2016. Approximately 20 candidates will be selected.
