New academic opportunities from the Virtual Institute network as on 7th May 2016

Dear Vi friends,

I am pleased to forward the following academic opportunities from UNCTAD and the Vi extended network.

UNCTAD's Transnational Corporations journal is now accepting submissions of policy-oriented articles and research notes on the economic, legal, social and cultural impacts of multinational enterprises (MNEs) and foreign direct investment (FDI). Proposals for single manuscripts and special issues/special features, as well as book reviews on key advances in the literature on FDI/MNEs, will be considered.

Indexed in the Scopus academic journal database, the journal operates under a double-blind peer review policy. Manuscripts must describe original work unpublished and not being considered for publication by other refereed journals.

Manuscripts are accepted year-round. For information about format and length of submissions, please refer to the author guidelines.

Authors wishing to be considered for the upcoming issue should submit their manuscripts no later than June 15 to tncj@unctad.org with copy to kalman.kalotay@unctad.org.

Inha University and the University of Le Havre have launched a call for papers in preparation for its international conference, "International Trade, Capital Flows and Economic Development - Capacity Building and Economic Initiatives," to be held October 20-21 in Incheon, Republic of Korea.

Conference organizers welcome submissions and comparative case studies contributing to the understanding of international policy initiatives and the management of global public goods. Empirical evidence should preferably be drawn from East Asia or Europe.

Inha University will provide four-day accommodation and meals for selected conference participants.

Full papers or extended abstracts must be submitted by May 15 to inkyo@inha.ac.kr or pierre-bruno.ruffini@univ-lehavre.fr.

The Philipps-Universität Marburg and the Lebanese American University invite Vi members to apply for its MSc Economics of the Middle East programme, which begins in October. The two-year joint degree combines education in economic analysis with applications to the economies of the MENA region.

Programme fees are approximately USD 8,500. Scholarships and financial aid opportunities may be available.

Applications must be submitted by July 15.

I hope you find this information useful, and that you will distribute widely among your students and other professional networks.

Best regards,

Susana Olivares
